The core of scientific thinking is abstraction and analysis, but the premise of this method is to considering all influencing factors. In some cases, we are closer to it, but in most others we are not. It not, we may ignore some factors which are crucial. And when we finally locate these factors, the situation is irreversible, which is the concern of anti-scientism. We can’t abandon scientific thinking, should remain cautious, vigilant and open. At this point, Lao Tzu’s “Knowing the white, yet keep the black” is very instructive. Scientism makes us live too much in an abstract world!
